Raksha Bandhan or Rakhi celebrates the chaste bond of love between brother and sister. It comes every year in August, the full moon day in the month of Shravan according to the Hindu calendar. Prayers and sweets are an essential part of all Hindu festivals. Raksha Bandhan is a day for feasting. Sweets of all kinds, mainly Laddoos, Jalebis, Barfi, Balushai, Gulab Jamuns and Rasgullas are the favourites.
